ÇANAKKALE VICTORY MESSAGE FROM ASFA HOLDING CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD ASAF ATASOY
ASFA HOLDING Chairman of the Board of Directors, Philanthropist and Businessman Asaf ATASOY, published a message on the occasion of the 18 March Martyrs’ Memorial and the 110th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory.
ASFA HOLDING Board Chairman Asaf ATASOY included the following statements in his message;
We are experiencing the pride of celebrating the 110th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory, which was written in golden letters in the history of Turkish wars, and the honor of observing the Martyrs’ Day of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our sacred homeland.
Our dear nation, which has always valued its independence, national unity and integrity above all else throughout history and has paid a heavy price for this cause, has never accepted living in captivity and has always protected its sacred homeland, which it considers more precious than itself, at the expense of its life and blood.
Here, the Çanakkale Victory is an epic in which the Turkish Soldier achieved the impossible, and demonstrated his love of country and his power of faith at the highest level. There is human dignity in every line of this epic. Underneath this epic, which constitutes the most honorable pages of our history and was written with the blood of thousands of our martyrs, lies loyalty to the nation, love of the country and the consciousness of being a great nation.
This victory in Çanakkale made the whole world accept the fact that “Çanakkale is impassable” and re-established the existence of the heroic Turkish Nation. The Çanakkale Victory is the victory of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who ordered his soldiers to “die, not attack”, of thousands of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence of their country and nation, of our veterans, and of the Turkish Nation as a whole. Çanakkale is the victory of love for the country and nation, the spirit of unity and solidarity, faith and determination, tactics and genius.
110 years after the Çanakkale Victory, where the first torch of the belief and spirit of the national struggle was lit, our nation will continue to protect its past, present and future with the same belief, spirit and determination. While on the one hand we struggle to carry our Republic to the future and our country to its rightful place among the nations of the world, on the other hand we will continue to always keep alive and glorify our high values that make us a nation.
With these feelings and thoughts; I remember with mercy and gratitude all our martyrs who gave their lives for the existence and integrity of our country, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms, who left us an independent country, and our veterans with gratitude.
May their souls rest in peace.
